Caseware Verity saves Demers Beaulne’s team time
Michael Zipkin, Senior Manager, Artificial Intelligence, at Demers Beaulne, explains how Caseware Verity differs from general-purpose AI tools. From its access to the engagement binder to agents that carry out instructions given in plain language, he describes why he sees Caseware Verity as a specialist for audit work.
How Caseware Verity differs from general-purpose AI
Zipkin describes Caseware Verity as a specialist, while tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot are generalists. He compares it to a doctor’s visit: the general-purpose AI is your GP, and Caseware Verity is the specialist you see for a specific issue. For audit engagements, Caseware Verity can reason over the documents in the engagement, the standards that have been loaded in and the other audit evidence in the Caseware Cloud environment. He calls that capability “something really special” for professionals.
Why engagement access matters for AI
With general-purpose AI, users have to supply context every time, whether that’s an accounting policy, an assurance standard, or an accounting standard. Caseware Verity already has that context because it has access to the engagement binder, much as Microsoft Copilot has access to emails and Teams messages. This saves users from re-explaining their work and lets Verity give responses and take actions tailored to what the team is doing.
How Caseware Verity’s agents execute work
Zipkin likes that agents don’t tell you what to do, they do it. Teams explain what they want in plain language, and the agent executes on those instructions.
