Using Caseware templates is not a prerequisite to using Sherlock. Sherlock mines data from all Caseware engagements, regardless of templates, and also offers capabilities to define how you store key data points, such as risks and controls, so that Sherlock can apply the proper structure for you to leverage the analysis.
The firm will need to purchase the applicable Sherlock components — Builder, Reader or API. Once a Cloud Engagement app user has a Sherlock license, they will see SE data populate in their visuals or API query results.
Storage of data (data-at-rest) is encrypted using the same high level of encryption as online banking.
