Creating a Data Request for the generic report call
In addition to the extraction of tables from databases and archives SmartExporter also supports the extraction of data from reports. Using the so-called generic report call you can call any SAP® standard reports and download it as text lines.
As an alternative to the report name, you can also enter the SAP® transaction to call the report. In this documentation, often only the term "reports" is used for simplification.
SmartExporter is a tool that can also be used with ease if you do not have any SAP®-specific knowledge. In this respect, creating a Data Request for the generic report is an exception because in-depth knowledge of SAP® reports is required or at least recommended. Using the generic report call is possible without SAP® expertise but it is more challenging than the use of the other predefined Data Requests shipped with SmartExporter.
