Authoring features
Control dynamic table row visibility with conditions
#firmauthors #enterpriseauthors
| Badge | ◑ Phased rollout |
| Applies to | New and existing engagements |
| Enabled by | Caseware |
You can apply visibility conditions to input rows and custom rows in dynamic tables. Rows that do not apply to an engagement can be hidden automatically based on conditions. The feature uses the same visibility conditions that are already available in other areas of the product.
The feature uses the same visibility conditions that are already available in other areas of the product.
This feature reduces authoring complexity and template maintenance for authors who build or manage templates across markets. It also simplifies support for different reporting frameworks, where each framework may require different rows or disclosures within the same table.
To learn more about visibility settings, see Control visibility in dynamic tables.
End-user features
Access the engagement Files page from engagement properties
#endusers
| Badge | ✔ Live |
| Applies to | New and existing engagements |
You can now open the engagement Files page from the Engagement overview dialog. The engagement name appears as a hyperlink above the Entity field. You can click the engagement name to open the Files page in a new browser tab.
This shortcut helps you confirm which engagement file is open when you work with multiple engagement files. It also lets you open the engagement Files page without leaving your current workflow.
To learn more about engagement properties, see Create and set up an engagement file.
Sort queries by document number on the Query dashboard
#endusers
| Badge | ✓ Live |
| Applies to | New and existing engagements |
You can now find queries faster by sorting the document number column independently of the document name. The Query dashboard now includes a separate Document number column on the Query tab. Separate columns for document numbers and document names reduce visual clutter and make the Query dashboard easier to scan.
To learn more about the Query dashboard, see View queries.
Match entity name with account ID on the adjustments page
#endusers #firmauthors
| Badge | ✓ Live |
| Applies to | New engagements |
When working with eliminating journal entries in consolidated engagements, you can now see the entity name on each detail line in both the adjustment page and the adjustment edit dialog. This reduces the risk of posting adjustments to the wrong entity and speeds up the review process for consolidated engagements.
To learn more about consolidated engagements, see View adjustments for consolidated engagements.
Use consolidated balances when calculating materiality in consolidated engagements
#endusers #firmauthors
| Badge | ◉ Setup required |
| Applies to | New engagements |
| Enabled by | Caseware |
You can now switch the materiality form to pull consolidated balances that include the effect of eliminating adjustments. Previously, eliminating journal entries did not affect the balances shown in the materiality document. This meant materiality calculations were based on pre-elimination figures, which did not reflect the true consolidated financial position.
Materiality calculations now reflect the actual consolidated financial position after eliminating entries. This provides more accurate materiality thresholds and reduces the need for manual workarounds.
To learn more about materiality, see Define materiality.
Export the grouped trial balance to a formatted Excel spreadsheet
#endusers #firmauthors
| Badge | ◉ Setup required |
| Applies to | New engagements |
| Enabled by | Caseware |
You can now export the grouped trial balance to a clean, formatted Excel file. The new Tabular Excel Export option generates a spreadsheet with bolded headers, underlines and structured columns.
This pre-formatted trial balance export is suitable for client review and working paper documentation. It saves time and ensures consistent presentation.
To learn more about trial balance export, see Export adjustments and trial balance data.
Fixes
A brief description of bug fixes resolved in Cloud Engagements 2026-05:
-
You cannot use the Search all entities option during engagement setup because the check box is unavailable when the engagement has a synced trial balance.
-
The Prior Year Prelim column header on the data page does not use the custom terminology set in the author template. The Current Year column uses the custom label but the Prior Year column shows the default PY-Prelim label.
-
Data links added to checklist procedure guidance do not always appear after the page is reloaded. A Value unavailable error can appear instead.
-
You cannot open group component sub-engagements after an Audit+ engagement is locked down. Mandatory audit documentation stored in subfiles remains inaccessible while the file is locked.
-
Checklist documents automatically enter edit mode after you accept carry-forward suggestions. The checklist remains editable after the suggestions are applied.
-
In the B23-1 analytical review, data from one analysis tab remains visible after you switch to another tab. Each tab does not reset to show only its own content.
-
You receive errors when you try to clear or delete issues in an engagement. The issues remain in the issue tracker.
-
Browser tab titles are inconsistent across sections of the main toolbar.
-
The Consideration for next year field at the assertion level in the risk assessment does not carry forward to the new engagement. The carry-forward suggestion appears, but the value is not saved when the suggestion is accepted.
-
Saved trial balance views for dimension-based data do not keep column selections after the page is reloaded. The saved view reverts to the default columns.
-
The signoff UI breaks when a signoff roleset scheme for risk, control or assessment pages is deleted and replaced with none. The settings continue to show default, and signoff circles remain visible on the pages.
