What's new - OnPoint Audit 2026.1.0 Release (v2.2710.0)

Here is what’s new in the OnPoint Audit 2026.1.0 release.

Disaggregation of risks for Inventory and Operating expenses

OnPoint Audit now supports the disaggregation of risks for Inventory and Operating expenses financial statement areas. You can perform separate risk assessments for all three components of inventory: Raw materials, Work-in-progress and Finished goods, as well as for up to three distinct streams of operating expenses, if required. New financial groupings and separate audit programs have also been added to support each of these new areas.

New Substantive sampling - Test of details forms

OnPoint Audit now includes the Substantive sampling – Test of details – Confidence level form. This form incorporates risk assessment in the financial statement areas from the Risk & controls tab to automatically calculate the allowable risk of incorrect acceptance and confidence levels. The calculated confidence level can then be used on the Substantive sampling – Test of details – Sample size forms to determine the actual sample size.

The new sampling form has already been added across the relevant fieldwork sections in OnPoint Audit. To insert additional instances of the new form, select the Create a document icon, and then select the Sampling – Test of details (Manual) option under the GCS Sampling – Test of details (Manual) form.

OnPoint Audit also includes an alternate version of the sampling test of details form called the Audit Evidence Planning form. To add the Audit Evidence Planning form, select the Create a document icon, then select the Audit Evidence Planning option under the GCS Audit Evidence Planning section.

The Create a document menu displaying options for forms and templates, including Sampling - Test of details (Manual) and Audit Evidence Planning.

To help you navigate the new sampling forms, a detailed AICPA Audit sampling guidance document has been added to the Fieldwork phase.

New features and enhancements in Cloud Engagements

Support short and long year engagements

Note: If enabled, this feature applies to new and existing engagements.

OnPoint Audit can now handle non-standard reporting periods using short and long year engagements that previously used only annual reporting periods.

This update lets you:

  • Define accurate engagement start and end dates for standard and non-standard fiscal years.

  • See precise date ranges in Engagement Properties, the Data page and Data Link-driven content.

  • Maintain consistent behavior when engagements are carried forward and prior-year trial balance data exists.

  • Clearly identify short and long year periods in dynamic tables, including custom calculation and consolidated views, with headings and popovers that show the full date range for each column.

  • Keep Analysis views and ratios aligned with the actual number of days in each reporting period, so short and long year engagements display accurate date ranges and time-based metrics.

The current scope includes updates to the Engagement Properties, the Data page and Data Link formulas and headings.

From Data Link:

Limitation:

  • For engagements that use a short or long year, only CSV import is supported.

Automate document and issue cleanup before engagement lockdown

Note: When available, this feature applies to new and existing engagements.

In OnPoint Audit, you can now use an automated cleanup process at the end of an engagement to remove unwanted versions of financial statements, such as documents and comments. In addition, you can confirm key signoff conditions are met before lockdown.

The update lets you:

  • Review diagnostics that highlight unsigned documents, unresolved issues, and un‑cleared changes after signoff.

  • Purge unwanted versions of financial statement documents that may be subject to discovery.

  • Retain selected issues that need to be carried forward to the next year while deleting the rest.

This supports document retention policies and reduces the risk that information subject to discovery remains in the engagement file.

Switch between planning and final balances on the Data page

Note: When available, this feature applies to new and existing engagements.

You can now switch an engagement between planning and final balances directly on the Data page when planning balances are enabled. A two‑option mode selector appears at the bottom of the Data page left sidebar. When you change the mode, a confirmation dialog appears and the page refreshes after you confirm.

The control only appears when planning balances are enabled and the current engagement balance mode is planning or final. If your engagement becomes stuck in Planning mode after importing balances or updating accounts, you can use the toggle to set the correct mode without contacting support.

Improved browser tab navigation

Note: This feature is available automatically and applies to new and existing engagements.

You can see more detailed page names in browser tabs when viewing pages in Caseware Cloud. This includes when you open documents and areas within an engagement. Previously, each tab began with the operating name and year which made it hard to distinguish between multiple open tabs from the same engagement. Now, the browser tab title starts with the document number or area name followed by the operating name and year. This reduces the time you spend switching between tabs and lowers the chance that you select the wrong one.
