What is Disclosure Checklist Agent?
Disclosure Checklist Agent is an AI-powered feature built into engagements that automates the evidence-gathering and answer-drafting stages of disclosure checklist review. It reads your client's financial statement, drafts Yes, No, or N/A answers for each checklist question, and provides a citation linking to the exact passage in the document that supports each answer.
Disclosure checklists are compliance-critical but time-intensive. Working through hundreds of questions by manually cross-referencing a financial statement typically takes several hours per engagement. Disclosure Checklist Agent reduces that to a focused review session — you verify the evidence for each suggested answer, approve what is correct, and apply your professional judgment where the automation flags uncertainty.
For instructions on running the automation in your engagement, see Use Disclosure Checklist Agent.
The Disclosure Review agent
The AI component of this feature is the Disclosure Review agent. When you run the automation, the Disclosure Review agent processes the financial statement PDF you select and works through your disclosure checklist question by question. For each question, it determines the most appropriate answer based on the document content, provides its reasoning, and links to the specific passage that supports that answer.
If the agent cannot find sufficient evidence to suggest an answer with confidence, it flags the question for your review rather than guessing.
What it means for your engagement workflow
Disclosure Checklist Agent does not replace your professional judgment. It handles the evidence-gathering and answer-drafting work so you can focus on verification and approval. You review each suggestion, confirm the evidence is correct, and decide whether to accept or change the answer. Only answers you approve are saved to your engagement file.
The automation runs inside your engagement. There is no export, no separate tool, and no reconciliation step. See Availability below for more information.
Governance and engagement documentation
Disclosure Checklist Agent is designed to produce a clean engagement file. When you run the automation, the Disclosure Review agent's suggested answers, reasoning, and citations are available for your review within the engagement. Only the answers you approve are written to your disclosure checklist. The AI-generated reasoning and citations do not persist in the engagement file after the engagement is locked.
