SmartExporter Additional Data Sources - Introduction

In addition to the extraction of tables from databases and archives SmartExporter also supports the extraction of data using Additional Data Sources. To use this functionality, you need to install the current version of the SmartExporter SAP® components, which is included in the deployment.

The Additional Data Sources include, for example, reports or data in so-called structures that are filled by means of SAP® business logic during runtime, such as payroll data.

To extract data using Additional Data Sources you have to install and customize additional components on the SAP® system.

The scope of delivery comprises some Data Request templates for the supported Additional Data Sources. You can use these Data Request templates to learn more about the use of the Additional Data Sources and to benefit from the predefined settings, e.g. preselected tables and filter settings. But you can also create your own Data Requests based on the Data Dictionaries that are shipped with SmartExporter.
