Create Data Request
The Data Request dialog contains a list of the available Data Requests, which help you get the data you need for your analyses from the SAP® system.
Note:
Open the dialog via the corresponding step in the app workflow to only display the Data Requests for the Analytics P2P app.
Separate Data Requests for Master Data (including the change log) and Transaction Data are available.
In addition to Data Request documents, the Analytics P2P app also includes Data Requests, which you can create directly in SmartExporter, a software program that helps you extract exactly the data you need from SAP®.
Note:
To use the app correctly and to its full extent, it is required that you use SmartExporter for the data extraction.
The Data Requests and the associated Standard Import Routine were created for SAP®-ERP systems and may therefore not be suitable for unlimited use with SAP S/4HANA® systems.
Follow the steps below to create a Data Request:
- Specify which Data Request(s) you want to create by clicking the corresponding checkboxes.
Separate Data Requests for Master Data (including the change log) and Transaction Data are available.
It is recommended to select the checkbox of both Data Requests to generate one comprehensive Data Request that covers both areas.
Note:
Some audit tests require data from both areas and therefore might not be ready to be run until data from both areas have been extracted, imported and prepared.
Regarding the data preparation, which can either be run during the data import or after the data import, please also note that it can be run separately for master data and transaction data. If you want to perform the data preparations separately (one after the other) in the same IDEA project as well as with the same imported data, please be sure to start with the data preparation for master data. Otherwise the prepared databases may not be assigned correctly to the audit tests. - Define the Data Request type by clicking the arrow in the Select the Data Request to be generated field. A list is displayed from which you can select either SAP - SmartExporter P2P Data Request or SAP - SmartExporter P2P Data Request document.
-
Click OK. Depending on the Data Request you have selected, one of the following happens:
- SAP - SmartExporter P2P Data Request: SmartExporter opens provided that you have installed this program. If this is not the case, a message is shown that allows you to save the Data Request as an XML file so that you can import it to SmartExporter later.
- SAP - SmartExporter P2P Data Request document: The Data Request document opens, which provides a list of all files and fields required for the analysis. You can save this document or forward it to the person responsible for data extraction.
Please read the notes in SmartExporter regarding the required Quick-Filters in the corresponding Data Request. For more information on SmartExporter refer to the SmartExporter user guide.
To learn more about Data Requests refer to the SmartAnalyzer help.
Close the Data Request dialog by clicking the corresponding button. You will return to the app workflow and can proceed with the next step Standard Import Routines as soon as you have received the requested data.
