Standard Import Routines
With the Standard Import Routines wizard you can import and prepare your data using a A Standard Import Routine is a predefined import interface for data from specific ERP or accounting systems.. The advantage of this is that the data is not only imported correctly but also automatically given the Tags are assigned to the databases to be analyzed by the audit tests of the Analytics P2P app. The assigned tags specify where to find certain information in the databases. that are later required to run the audit tests.
Note:
Open the wizard via the corresponding step in the app workflow to display only the Standard Import Routine for the Analytics P2P app.
On the first page Select Standard Import Routine the available Standard Import Routines are listed. The Standard Import Routine relevant for the Analytics P2P app is SAP - SmartExporter P2P.
Please note that the Standard Import Routine and the associated Data Requests were created for SAP®-ERP systems and may therefore not be suitable for unlimited use with SAP S/4HANA® systems.
To run the Standard Import Routine proceed as follows:
- Select the SAP-SmartExporter group in the Data Source/ERP System area.
The SAP - SmartExporter P2P Standard Import Routine, which belongs to this group, is displayed on the right. - Select the SAP - SmartExporter P2P Standard Import Routine.
A detailed description of the routine is shown in a separate pane below the name area.
Click Next. - On the Select Import Source page click the Browse button.
Locate the index.xml file (the file that contains the data to be imported) and select it via the Open button. - On the Select Files to Import page, make sure that all required files are available and selected so that your data is imported and prepared completely and correctly, and you can later perform all audit tests as expected.
It is also advisable to select the Start the data preparation immediately after the import option here, so that the data import and preparation are performed in one step and you can then immediately proceed to run the audit tests. As an alternative you can also run the data preparation via the Prepare imported data workflow step after the import.
Click Import.
Either this will lead you to the SAP - SmartExporter P2P dialog (see step 5) if you have decided to run the data preparation immediately, or you will jump directly to the import summary (see step 6) if you want to run the data preparation afterwards. - In the SAP - SmartExporter P2P dialog you can specify which data preparation(s) you want to run.
Separate data preparations for Master data and Transaction data are available.
Select the checkboxes of both data preparations if you want to run the two of them (in one step).
If you want to perform the data preparations separately (one after the other) in the same IDEA project and also with the same imported data, please be sure to first start with the data preparation for master data by activating the corresponding checkbox. Otherwise the prepared databases may not be assigned correctly to the audit tests.
Later you can run the second data preparation in the Prepare imported data workflow step.
Note:
Some audit tests require databases from both data preparations and therefore may not be ready to be run until both data preparations have been run one after the other.
Click OK to start the data preparation(s). - On the last page of the wizard you will find a summary of the import. In the Output Databases tab a list of the created databases and the corresponding number of records of each database is displayed. You can click the Error Protocol tab to get an overview of any error messages, warnings and information that may have been generated during the import process.
If you want to run another data import, select the Import more data with this Standard Import Routine option. You will return to the Select Import Source page (see step 3).
Otherwise click Close to exit the Standard Import Routine wizard.
You will return to the app workflow and can then either continue with the next step Prepare imported data (if you still need to run or want to run again one or both of the data preparation routines) or immediately go to the Run audit tests step (if the data preparation is completed).
