View adjustments for consolidated engagements

#primaryauthor #firmauthor #enterpriseauthor #enduser

Note: If enabled, this feature applies to both new and existing engagements

In consolidated engagements, adjustments, particularly eliminating journal entries, can affect accounts across multiple entities. The adjustment page and adjustment edit dialog provide entity-level indicators so you can identify which entity each account belongs to.

Entity indicators on the adjustment page and edit dialog

When you view a summarized adjustment on the adjustment page, each detail line displays the entity name alongside the account ID. When you create or edit an adjustment, the adjustment edit dialog also displays the entity name next to the account ID.

Use the entity name to:

  • Confirm which entity a selected account belongs to.

  • Verify that eliminating journal entries affect the intended accounts across the correct entities.

  • Distinguish between accounts that share the same account ID across different entities.

This is especially useful when multiple entities share the same chart of accounts. Without entity indicators, detail lines in a summarized adjustment can appear to belong to a single entity when the adjustment spans multiple entities.

Notes:

  • Eliminating journal entries typically bring the related account balances down to zero. To see accounts that have already been adjusted to a zero balance, select Include zero-balance items when browsing accounts in the adjustment edit dialog.

  • When entities in a consolidated engagement share the same chart of accounts, rely on the entity name indicator rather than the account ID alone to confirm your selections.
