What is Caseware Audit?
Caseware Audit is a cloud-based audit solution built to assist firms in performing audit engagements for private and public entities. The auditor's responses to the Engagement Optimiser and other checklists intelligently populate the engagement file with the relevant documents, work programs, letters and content across the planning, controls, risk response and reporting phases.
Caseware Audit currently supports engagements performed under the International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and the Canadian Auditing Standards (CASs), and is designed to accommodate additional auditing frameworks over time.
Caseware Audit is not a substitute for professional standards and in no way relieves the user from their responsibility to apply professional judgment and to execute the audit engagement in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. The procedures, checklists, letters and financial statements provided in Caseware Audit are useful aids; the user is solely responsible for tailoring all aspects of the engagement and related documentation to the facts and circumstances of each engagement.
Key features
-
Engagement Optimiser — a single intake checklist that captures the engagement's basic description (entity type, applicable auditing standards, reporting period, deadline) along with acceptance and continuance considerations, then drives the visibility of all downstream content throughout the engagement.
-
Dynamic content — documents, folders and individual procedures appear or are hidden based on the auditor's responses to the Engagement Optimiser, the trial balance balances, and other checklists throughout the engagement.
-
Integrated risk and controls tracking — risks and controls can be captured throughout the engagement and surfaced in centralised reports, including the Risk & Controls Matrix (AC-115) and the engagement-wide Risks & controls tab.
-
Built-in client collaboration — queries (Q documents) and signed-document placeholders (R documents) allow the engagement team to request information from the client, send letters for signature, and receive responses directly within the engagement file.
