Track the status of a request
A request and each of its request questions have their own status. The request status is set automatically from the status of its questions, so you can see how far a request has progressed without opening it.
Request question statuses
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Awaiting Response | The question has been sent and the client has not responded yet. |
| Response Submitted | The client has responded. |
| Returned | You sent the response back to the client because something was missing or incorrect. |
| Accepted | You accepted the response. |
You are notified each time a client resubmits, whether the question was Response Submitted or Returned.
You can delete a request question while it is Awaiting Response, Response Submitted or Returned. You cannot delete a question once it is Accepted.
Request statuses
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Draft | You have created the request but not sent it. |
| Sent | You have sent the request and no responses have come back yet. Clients see this status as Awaiting response. |
| In Progress | At least one request question has been submitted. |
| Returned | At least one question has been returned and none are awaiting review. |
| Accepted | You have accepted every question in the request. |
| Cancelled | You cancelled the request. Cancelled requests are no longer visible to the assigned contacts. |
How the request status is set
The request status follows its questions. Sending the request moves it to Sent, the first submission moves it to In Progress, and accepting every question moves it to Accepted. Returning a question moves the request to Returned once nothing is awaiting your review.
You can set the request status yourself instead of letting it follow the questions. An override applies to every question in the request and uses a single shared note. A warning indicator shows while the override is in place. The override clears the next time the status would change on its own.
Every status change is recorded and cannot be altered.
