What's new in Working Papers 2026

Learn about the features and fixes available to you in the latest release of Working Papers.

Features

This release includes the following new features:

  • Working Papers now integrates with Caseware Docuflex: our document management and engagement workflow app on Caseware Cloud.

For more information, see our Caseware Docuflex help topics.

  • Changed the default Tax Vendor to N/A instead of ProFile when creating an engagement with a Canadian tax jurisdiction.

  • Added a Convert to Excel File (.xlsx) option to the right-click menu in the Document Manager that converts a CSV file to .xlsx and replaces the original file.

  • Updated the QuickBooks Online import to work with Intuit's modernized Reports API (2026.05).

  • Added support for imports from Sage 50 Accounting 2026 (Canada).

  • Added support for exports to ProFile 2025 (Canada).

  • The Data Store Administration Tool is now compatible with Microsoft SQL Server 2025.

Fixes

This release includes fixes to the following issues:

  • After lockdown, opening a document's properties and clicking OK trims a leading space from the document name, creating a modification event after lockdown.

  • Excel imports truncate the extended map description in files that have multiple languages enabled.

  • Deleting the first folder in the Document Manager deletes all Document Manager content when a workflow layout is applied.

  • The History automatic document omits some history events when filtering by a date range due to a UTC timezone offset.

  • Files close unexpectedly when signed into Caseware Cloud with certain privileges.

  • Child copies become stuck in a continuous syncing state.

  • Dragging and dropping multiple files into the Document Manager changes the content of every file after the first, resulting in documents with content from another file.

  • Working Papers defaults to a fixed runtime instead of the evergreen WebView2 runtime.

  • Attaching an .sfc file to an issue results in an error due to a file corruption check that does not apply to uncompressed attachments.

  • External data cells in CaseView with an asterisk in the Form field cause data loss.

  • CaseView pie charts using the old look render a default set of data instead of the values passed to them.

  • CaseView crashes during HTML exports in documents with certain subdocument structures.
