SmartExporter Version Overview

The current version contains the following new features and more:

SmartExporter Windows client:

• Classic RFC DLLs are no longer supported. SmartExporter now only supports the NetWeaver® RFC DLLs for communication between SmartExporter and the SAP® system when running SmartExporter in online mode. The NetWeaver® RFC DLLs are deployed in the SmartExporter setup and are automatically stored to the correct directory during installation.
• Improved security for SAP® connection passwords
• Improved messages regarding testing of SAP® connections
• SmartJoin field selection from multiple tables

SmartExporter SAP® components version 8.0.0006:

• New CDS View Type W supported
• New certificates for Add-On

Additional Data Sources:

• The directDART Additional Data Sources now fully support BEA 1.3 and all required segments (TXW_SEL, TXW_SELPAR and TXW_SELVAL) and fields have now been added.

The current version contains the following new features and more:

SmartExporter Windows client:

• The NetWeaver RFC DLLs are now provided in the SmartExporter setup and automatically stored in the correct directory during installation, so that no manual steps are required anymore.
• Support for the latest version of the RFC_READ_TABLE function module with significant improvements, including unlimited record length and the ability to sort by primary key.
• Downloading Data Dictionaries without package $TMP possible

SmartExporter SAP® components version 8.0.0005:

• SAP® versions 4.6C, 4.7 and 5.0 are no longer supported.
• The extraction method ZAUDICZ_RFC_READ_TABLE is no longer available because its functionality is now covered by the new version of the RFC_READ_TABLE function module.

Additional Data Sources:

• The HCM Additional Data Source has been removed because its functionality has been replaced by other Human Resources interfaces like DLS (“Digitale LohnSchnittstelle”).

New features in SmartExporter SAP® components 8.0.0001 + SP1 patch:

• Problem solved that could occur with some SAP_BASIS versions from 700 to 731 when kernel versions, support packages and/or SAP® notes were in a newer version. In these cases, an encryption error could be reported even though no compression was selected and no password was entered.

New features in SmartExporter SAP® components 7.0.0011:

• Changed Customizing settings were overwritten by default values in SP9 or higher. This behavior has been fixed.
• During SAP® job placement in some cases a missing authorization of S_DATASET was reported. This problem has been fixed.

New features in SmartExporter SAP® components 7.0.0010:

• Multiplex tables like VBHDR or VBMOD supported
• Reserved words COMMENT and SCOMMENT for path names in storage locations supported

• New Attribute Change Package (ACP) for SAP® base release 756 / S/4HANA 2021

• Sorting of records for buffer table method and for asynchronous extraction

• Storage locations:
  • Enhanced error handling for the WebDAV Server storage type
  • Now the WebDAV Server storage type can also be used for SAP® base releases 700 to 731
• Problem when saving the field name in authorization object during authorization profile maintenance in SmartExporter Customizing fixed

New features in SmartExporter SAP® components 7.0.0006:

• Buffer table method problem during synchronous extraction and the extraction of large data volumes is resolved
• Texts of SmartExporter SAP® transactions are displayed correctly also when the login language is not English or German

New features in SmartExporter SAP® components 7.0.0005:

• New option in the SmartExporter Customizing to prohibit the use of external storage locations and unsecure protocols

New features: SmartExporter SAP® components version 7.0.0004:

1. Problem fixed concerning buffer table method for logical files that are not configured
2. Problem fixed concerning archive access when fields in the archive index were renamed
3. When encrypting data in the SAP® system using SmartExporter Data Privacy profiles, for newer SAP® releases the SAP® method ENCRYPT_IV, if implemented on the system, is automatically used for the DATA_PRIVACY_AES128_KERNEL and DATA_PRIVACY_AES256_KERNEL plug-ins. This way, when encrypting key fields, the relations to other tables, e.g. in a later joins, are not lost.
4. In the transaction /AUDIC/SE_STATUS (Request Overview) it is now possible to export larger job logs
5. The WebDAV implementation for the new storage locations feature (transaction /AUDIC/SE_STRG) delivered with the SmartExporter SAP® components 7 has been improved
6. Due to necessary adjustments to the Additional Data Source directDART, especially for S/4HANA, new transports will be made available. The selection of the transport to be taken is no longer determined with the help of SAP_APPL as before, but instead transports for S/4HANA and non-S/4HANA SAP® systems are delivered.
7. In the end user role, corresponding authorizations for S_USER_GRP were added. This makes it possible to assign additional roles to the SmartExporter SAP® profiles.

New features in SmartExporter SAP® components 7.0.0003:

• With asynchronous extraction the default data structure file (index.xml) was not created if an Additional Data Source was selected. This problem has been fixed.
• When configuring authorization filters, SQL errors could occur in certain cases. These errors no longer occur.

New features:

   3. Correct handling of UTCLONG file type when INITIAL filter value is used

• Using a license manager server possible
• Additional Data Sources: New Data Request templates
• Display of Data Request name in SmartExporter Windows client

• Extractions in Remote Desktop environment will automatically continue after a session was interrupted instead of starting from the beginning.
• Upgrade to Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2
• The error message “FU_NOT_FOUND” that was sometimes shown despite sufficient authorizations when using SAP standard components is not shown any more.
