New as of IDEA version 10.3 Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) is the name of standards commonly used in the USA. These standards are used by all government agencies and government contractors in the USA and therefore serve as a basis for tenders. Compliance with this standard is a prerequisite to be awarded public contracts in the USA.
The FIPS controls the hash function and the encryption algorithms. For IDEA 10.3 and higher FIPS compliant apps can be created. This functionality will not impair the performance of the apps.Note:Apps created with IDEA 10.2 or a previous version and apps where this option is not enabled cannot be used on a computer on which the FIPS was activated. The FIPS can only be used in IDEA 10.3 or higher. - To create the app, click the OK button. After the app has been created a protocol will be shown. You can print or save it as a PDF, DOCX, DOC or RTF file.
