Analyze audit test results

In this step you can view the results generated by the audit tests and create a report based on the results of the audit tests you have run.

Note:

It is recommended that you always open the module from within the app workflow by clicking the Analyze audit test results step. This ensures that only the audit test results relevant to you are displayed and that you can get the most out of the app. If you open the module via the SmartAnalyzer ribbon instead, also the audit test results from other apps you have imported are shown.

View audit test results

The Results and Reporting module comprises the following areas:

You can view each result in IDEA by clicking the corresponding result name either in the audit grid or in the Results window. You can then use this result database to run further analyses and evaluations in IDEA.

Create a report

Additionally, the Results and Reporting module provides a standard report template to generate a report based on the results.

To create a report proceed as follows:

  1. In the audit grid click the checkbox of each audit test result you want to include in the report.

  2. In the ribbon click the Create entry in the Reporting group.

  3. In the Options - Standard Report dialog you have several options to customize the report. You can enter the name of the author, the client name and the title of the report, and the Advanced button provides you with additional report options. For more information refer to the SmartAnalyzer help.

  4. Click OK. The report will be generated and displayed in the Report Creator window. The structure of the report depends on the settings you have defined (see above).

By default the following information is shown for each audit test included in the report:

    • audit objective
    • assigned and tagged database
    • additional databases (if applicable)
    • user and date of audit test run
    • information on tags and audit test parameters (if applicable)

By default the following information is shown for each audit test result included in the report:

    • result name
    • corresponding result description

The audit test result itself can be included as a table or as a link.

  5. In the report window toolbar click the Save or Save As icons to save the report in one of the available formats, or click the Close icon to exit the report.

Note:

If you have loaded your audit test parameters from an existing parameter file via the Load entry in the Parameters group in the ribbon of the Select and Run Audit Tests module and then run the audit tests immediately afterwards, the parameters may not be displayed in the report.

Therefore, if you have loaded parameters from a parameter file, please make sure to reopen the parameter dialogs for the individual audit tests and confirm with OK before you run the audit tests.

Furthermore, in the Results and Reporting module you can also export your results to Microsoft Excel® in order to forward them to users that do not have access to IDEA.
