Selecting The Input Type of an Alphanumeric Cell

There are 5 types of alphanumeric cells from which to choose that control the content that is placed in the input cell.

  1. Select the cell you want to modify.

  2. On the Home tab, click Cell, and then click Alphanumeric.

  3. In the input type box, select the type.

If you choose

The cell

Unrestricted

Accepts any alphanumeric value.

Postal

Only accepts a postal code. In accordance with postal code format, the letters in the postal code are automatically capitalized.

Yes/No

Only accepts a Y or N value.

X Only

Only accepts an X value.

Zip code

Only accepts a zip code.
