Introducing Caseware Verity for Excel — Market release

Caseware Verity for Excel brings Caseware Verity to Microsoft Excel through Caseware Cloud Connector. Like Caseware Verity in your engagement, it answers questions about the engagement you're working on, drawing from your engagement data, your firm's methodology, and authoritative standards to provide relevant, cited answers without leaving the file.

Caseware Verity for Excel is available with the Cloud Connector

Caseware Verity for Excel is available to Caseware Cloud firms with the Cloud Connector. Access requires the Cloud Connector add-in and a Caseware Verity license, both enabled per user by a firm administrator.

Build and populate workpapers in Excel

Caseware Verity works with your workbook wherever it is: a blank sheet, a firm template or client-provided data.

Feature highlights:

  • Build a schedule from the trial balance in a blank workbook, such as a lead schedule or a debt schedule

  • Populate a firm-authored test or Excel work program template from engagement data

  • Extract figures from uploaded documents into the correct cells

  • Validate client-provided data, such as confirming a trial balance balances or tying subledgers to controls

  • Analyze balances and movements with materiality in view

  • Ask technical questions and get cited answers anchored to the engagement's framework

You approve every change

Caseware Verity drafts content into your workbook only after you approve it. When Caseware Verity proposes a change, it shows you what it will write, and you approve or reject it before Caseware Verity writes anything to the sheet. Caseware Verity doesn't change engagement content outside of the Excel worksheet you're working in.

Scope

Caseware Verity for Excel reads engagement data (trial balance, financial statements, risks, materiality, checklists, issues, queries, engagement properties) and uploaded PDF, Word and Excel documents. It can also read through knowledge published by the firm (such as manuals or guidance) and in certain solutions, authoritative standards like the AICPA OPL. Caseware Verity for Excel drafts into the active Excel workbook with your approval, and can only access the engagement the workbook is opened from.
