Error “TypeError:’CV_DOCIDGROUP’ is null or not an object” when signing off a document

Issue

After installing the PEG template, I receive the error: "TypeError:'CV_DOCIDGROUP' is null or not an object" when I try to sign off on documents in the Document Manager.

This error occurs for the following reasons:

• The PEG template is not installed correctly.
• A signed-off document was added to the file, then removed.

Solution

Ensure that the PEG template is installed locally in the Document Library folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Caseware\Document Library\) of your Caseware Working Papers application.

To verify the installation location of the PEG template:

1. Launch Working Papers.
2. On the ribbon, click Tools | Templates.
3. Right-click on either the PEG Audit or PEG Review and Compilation template.
4. Click Properties.

The PEG template installation location is displayed. If the PEG template is not installed in the Document Library folder, you must reinstall it. See PEG Template Installation for more information.
