Combine Audit International and IFRS Financials files

Issue

I want to combine CaseWare’s Audit International and IFRS Financials templates into an individual Working Papers file to streamline my engagement process; however, the templates do not use the same mapping structure. The Audit documents are based on Lead Schedule (L/S) groupings, whereas the Financials documents uses Mapping as the default.

Solution

Template authors must maintain a consistent mapping and grouping structure in both templates to ensure that the correct information is available in the combined files. We recommend replacing the mapping/grouping structure in the Audit templates with the structure in the Financials template.

Before you update the Audit and Financials templates, download and extract the IFRS Mapping file to a folder on your desktop.

To update the Audit template:

  1. Launch Working Papers.
  2. On the ribbon, click File | Templates.
  3. Select the Audit template and click Edit.
  4. Click File | Copy Components | Copy Into This File.
  5. In the Select Source dialog, click the File tab and then browse for the downloaded IFRS Mapping file. Click Next.
  6. In the Copy Components dialog, select Groupings/Mappings, then, in the right-hand pane, select Mapping and L/S.
  7. Click Options for Mapping.
  8. In the Mapping Copy Options dialog, select Replace with source file’s mapping structure and click OK.
  9. Click Options for L/S.
  10. In the L/S Copy Options dialog, select Replace with source file’s L/S structure and click OK.
  11. Click Next, Next, then Finish to complete the Copy Components Wizard.
  12. On the ribbon, click Tools | Templates.
  13. Select the Audit template and click Repackage.
  14. Complete the wizard to repackage the template.

The updated Audit template is now ready.

To update the IFRS Financials template:

  1. Launch Working Papers.
  2. On the ribbon, click File | Templates.
  3. Select the Audit template and click Edit.
  4. Click File | Copy Components | Copy Into This File. Click Next.
  5. In the Copy Components Wizard, click the File tab and then browse for the downloaded IFRS Mapping file. Click Next.
  6. In the Copy Components dialog, select Groupings/Mappings, then, in the right-hand pane, select Mapping and L/S.
  7. Click Options for Mapping. In the Mapping Copy Options dialog, select Replace with source file’s mapping structure and click OK. Complete the wizard and close the Audit template.
  8. Click Options for L/S.
  9. In the L/S Copy Options dialog, select Replace with source file’s L/S structure and click OK.
  10. Click Next, Next, then Finish to complete the Copy Components Wizard.
  11. On the ribbon, click Tools | Templates.
  12. Select the IFRS Financials template and click Repackage.
  13. Complete the wizard to repackage the template.

The updated IFRS Financials template is now ready.

You can now combine the files from each template by copying the required content into your file.

To combine template files:
