Compatibility Issues between Connector 2014 and Microsoft Excel 2016

Updated: Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Affected Versions: Connector 2014 and Microsoft Excel 2016

An issue has been identified in Connector 2014 (when used with Excel 2016), where the program will frequently become unresponsive. This issue is caused by a program component (cwaddin.dll), which uses a window activation/deactivation mechanism to handle certain workflows. This component is incompatible with Excel 2016; resulting in the instability issue.

The issue has been resolved in Connector 2015. Customers using or planning to use Excel 2016 are strongly encouraged to upgrade to Connector 2015 or a later version.
