Re-organizing Entities in the Consolidation Dialog may Cause Sync Issues

Problem

Using the Consolidation dialog to re-organize entities with large numbers of accounts may result in some accounts becoming unassigned in the parent file or other Sync copies (even if they appear correctly in the Sync copy where the re-organization was performed).

The issue affects only large consolidations, where the reorganized entities contain more than 5,000 total accounts.

Solution

Contact CaseWare Technical Support to obtain an updated version of Working Papers.

Note: Working Papers 2015.00.192 (Release 3) does not fix this issue.

CaseWare Cloud Users

Install the updated version of Working Papers on workstations. Run SmartSync Repair on a Sync copy, then replace the parent file using Replace Server Copy.

SmartSync Server Users

Install the updated version of Working Papers on workstations and on the File Service Server. Run SmartSync Repair directly on the parent file. The correct account information will then be synchronized to existing Sync copies.

Alternatively, run SmartSync Repair on a Sync copy, then replace the parent file using Replace Server Copy.

Workaround

Replace the parent file with the modified Sync copy using Replace Server Copy. Delete all previous Sync copies and create new ones.
