QuickBooks 2008 / 2009 / 2010 / 2011 / 2012 Export Utility v.1037

Info:

Version 1.037

This release was updated to include QuickBooks version 2012 for Canada.  It also fixed a problem caused by having an inactive 'GST/HST Payable' account. In the previous version, if this account was set as an 'inactive' account, the utility failed to export this account.

Previous Versions

The previous 1.035 release was updated to include QuickBooks versions 2011 and 2012 for Australia. This release also provides the ability to import from very large QuickBooks files by importing the file in increments of 15 days rather than a month at a time. The previous release 1.033 was updated to include QuickBooks versions 2011 for Canada and the 2010 UK in the Export Utility. This release also fixes an issue where the utility failed to find the correct account when QB shows accounts using the “Name and description” setting.

Functionality

In order to import QuickBooks 2008 (Canada/Australia/UK), 2009 (Canada/Australia), 2010 (Canada/Australia/UK), or 2011 (Canada/Australia), or 2012 (Canada/Australia) into Working Papers, the files must first be exported using the QuickBooks Export Utility on the workstation where QuickBooks is installed. Once the export file has been created, it can then be imported directly into Working Papers.

Requirements

Working Papers must be installed prior to installing QuickBooks Export Utility.

The QuickBooks Export Utility is designed to work with any of these Working Papers versions:

  • Working Papers version 2011.00.060 or higher; or
  • Working Papers version 2010.00.067 or higher (2010.00.104 has been updated for QuickBooks UK 2010 and Canada 2011, click here for more information); or
  • Working Papers version 2009.00.115 or higher (2009.00.130 is required for QuickBooks 2009/2010); or
  • Working Papers 2008.00.138 or higher; or
  • Working Papers 2008.00.133 only; or
  • Working Papers 2006.50.527 release 2 or higher;

Getting Started

Once you have downloaded the QuickBooks Export Utility, follow these steps:

  1. Create the export file. For instructions on how to create the export file, please refer to the "Readme.htm" file included in the download.
  2. Import the export file directly into Working Papers. Please refer to "Readme.htm" and/or the Working Papers help topic "QuickBooks".

Note

  • The QuickBooks 1.033 Export Utility or higher is able to export a QuickBooks 2011 Canada or 2010 UK file. Though the options to import QuickBooks 2011 Canada and QuickBooks 2010 UK will be added to Working Papers 2010.00.104 or higher, you can still use QuickBooks 2010 Canada import to bring in your exported data even if you do not have Working Papers 2010.00.104. Click here for more information.
  • For QuickBooks 2008/09/10 (US), you or your client must first create an export file (.qbw) from within QuickBooks itself. The QuickBooks Export Utility is not required. Please refer to the Working Papers online help topic Importing data from QuickBooks 2006/07/08/09/10 US.
