Consolidated companies - Viewing one entity's figures
Problem:
I have a consolidation file with three entities, a parent and two subs, and each has its own trial balance. How can I view the trial balance of just the parent entity? Whenever I select the parent in the entity selector, all three entities appear.
Solution:
In the Trial Balance automatic document there is a property next to the entity Context called Only. Checking this option off will limit the report to just a particular entity context. This could be used for the parent or even the top level of a branch in the consolidation tree. This option appears in all automatic documents that allows you to choose the entity context.
