How To Share Working Papers Files in Windows XP
Problem:
Below are instructions for sharing a Working Papers client file.
All users accessing shared client files need the ability to write to the Working Papers databases or an error will be displayed which reads "Access to <File Name> denied. Share buffer full or another user in file." It is important to confirm write access in both the Share Permissions and the NTFS Security Permissions as the most restrictive of the two will take precedence.

How you add users to a shared file depends on your computer setup (workgroup or domain).
A) Default Workgroup Network (Simple Network Sharing)
- Right-click the folder to be shared.
- Select the Sharing Tab.
- Select “Share this folder on the network” and “Allow network users to change my files” which will give the necessary write access.
B) Workgroup Network with Advanced File Sharing & Default Domain Network
- Right-click the folder to be shared. Select the Sharing Tab.
- Select “Share this folder”.
- Click the Permissions button and allow the Everyone group "Full Control".
- Click the Security Tab.
- Ensure all connecting users and their associated groups have Full Control rights.
