Document Libraries
In Working Papers 2006 there is a new Document Library function to maintain standards in documents and to manage the content of standard documentation better. Now external documents, such as those that are used as a standard or a template, can be easily added to the Document Manager. For example, standard client letters created in CaseView can reside in the Document Library. Any document within a Working Papers client file may be part of the library.
In previous versions the Copy Template function was used to copy an external file. The new Document Library function is a quicker and simpler way to add the external files.
Do the following to create a document library:
- Place the documents you wish to have in the document library in a location of your choice. This could be set to a network location so that everyone has access to the same files. Having this central directory allows the standard firm documents to be easily accessible and easily maintained.
- Set the document library path in Tools | Options | General to the location where you placed the documents.
To add a document from the Library to a client file"
- Click Document | New | From Document Library.
- Select the correct library file in the Source dropdown and the full contents of the document manager.
- Select the document(s) required and click Add
