Disabling User Access Control in Vista
Problem:
In earlier versions of Working Papers, the User Access Control in Windows Vista would cause problems when building or accessing the Central Store. While these issues have been corrected and the functionality will work regardless of UAC status, the question is often raised by clients as to how this function is disabled in Windows.
Solution:
Click the start button and select Control Panel.
If using the default Control Panel view:
- Click User Accounts.
- Click User Accounts again in the screen that opens.
- Click the link "Turn User Access Control on or off".
- Clear the checkbox to "Use User Access Control (UAC) to help protect your computer" and click OK.
If using the Classic View for the Control Panel:
- Open User Accounts.
- Click the link "Turn User Access Control on or off".
- Clear the checkbox to "Use User Access Control (UAC) to help protect your computer" and click OK.
