Changes to Login Procedures
Problem:
Solution:
Changes to Login Procedures, as follows:
Conversion
Time 2006 and higher require a user name and password to log into the program instead of a user ID and password. As Time converts your Time data file, it copies the current user ID to the user name field in lower case characters. From then on, the user inputs the user name and the password to log in.
Example
Time 2005: user ID = DW, password = DW
Time 2006 and higher: user name = dw, password = dw
Changes to Login when offline or when Active Directory Integration is not used
When using Time offline or without Active Directory Integration, the login procedure is the same as used in previous versions of Time. The user enters his Time user name and password. User names can be changed in the Staff dialog.
Changes to Login with Active Directory Integration ON
You can now use the same user list for logging into Time that is used to log into Windows and your company network. This means a user can have one user name and password that logs them into your firm's network and automatically authenticates them when they log into Time.
