Copy and paste of cells between CaseView and Financials.
Problem:
I have an old template with existing cells, can I copy and paste my existing cells into CaseWare Financials?
Solution:
You are able to copy cells from existing CaseView documents into Financials unless you encounter a conflict between cell numbers. While copying and pasting between CaseView documents you may encounter a "Clipboard Cell Conflict". This results when the copied cell has the same number as an existing cell in Financials.
If you select Use document’s cell definition, the properties of the copied cell will be replaced with the properties of the cell in Financials.
If you select Use clipboard’s cell definition, the cell number in Financials will take on the properties of the copied cell.
NOTE: This can result in irreversible errors to your template.
Recommended solution:
- If you encounter the Clipboard Cell Conflict dialog, note the cell number with the conflict.
- In the original CaseView document renumber the cell to a value not used in Financials.
- With the original cell number renamed you can copy and paste again from the original into Financials and the warning will no longer appear.
