Auditors can Visually Document Workflows with Release of IDEA® Version Eight

Toronto – February 19, 2009 – CaseWare IDEA Inc. today announced the new functionality and enhancement features of IDEA Version Eight, which was developed to help simplify and improve the quality of data analysis work.
 
IDEA Version Eight includes a Project Overview feature that presents a graphical representation of the entire audit or investigation process, which may be shared with management or used to meet documentation requirements. The graphical overview includes all the actions performed within a Working Folder or IDEA Server project, including the creation, deletion, and modification of databases as well as recording all actions performed. This new feature provides the ability to independently review the workflows including drill-down capabilities for additional history.

Scheduled for release in March 2009, IDEA Version Eight offers multiple ease of use enhancements including a Visual Script that allows users to build their own scripts without any programming.  Visual Scripts can be used to re-run standard analysis processes and build continuous monitoring applications. Version Eight also enables users to create their own @Functions and easily share them with others using the Custom Functions feature. New @Functions have been added to easily use the value of the next record in equations, use the value of the previous record, or access any field statistics and use them in an equation, such as comparing each transaction with the average value of all the transactions.
 
Importing documents will be even easier with Version Eight with a drag-and-drop feature in the Import Assistant, along with rerun capability and faster PDF import. Users may also individually select records they wish to extract, allowing them to concentrate on specific areas for more in-depth review.
 
New usability features include alternating row colors, calendar pop-ups and the ability to sort field names by ascending, descending or natural/original order.
 
Version Eight is Vista compatible and offers increased flexibility with network and standalone licensing. Loading and sharing the software has also been simplified with features such as an automatic search for quarterly updates and auto-install functions.
