New IIA Guide a Must Read
Toronto, Ontario, Canada – October 6, 2011
With the support of CaseWare IDEA Inc. and ACL Services Ltd., known industry leaders in data analysis technology, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) has released “Global Technology Audit Guide (GTAG) 16: Data Analysis Technologies”, a forward-looking document that advocates moving beyond manual auditing methods toward data analysis using technology.
This refreshingly informative read lauds the potential of data analysis technologies to help experts increase audit coverage, realize significant improvement in productivity, and provide greater assurance to stakeholders. It discusses a wealth of topics and concepts, including Benford’s Law, 100 percent audit coverage, and ‘doing more with less’, which have become the reality enabling Internal Audit to provide effective fact-based assessments.
Recommended under IIA’s International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), the guide is requisite reading for the modern auditor. The content is in tune with the rigorous demands and challenges auditors face and an encouraging call to action to embrace the merits of high-tech analytics.
